8 Months Old

Will is 8 months old today! He is such a sweet little man. He gives the best hugs and cuddles.
He's currently trying to crawl. He'll get up on his hands and knees and rock, but isn't really getting anywhere yet. He has 2 teeth and LOVES to eat! He cries when the food is all gone. He's not very picky either. He eats squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, broccoli, peas, green beans, corn, apples, pears, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, turkey, cheese, yogurt, and anything he can grab off our plates when we're not looking. He's a lot like Jay in his personality. He laughs and smiles a lot at home and with people he's comfortable with. But if he's in a big group of people, he just sits back and watches everyone to see what's going on. He is such a joy in our family!

The Perfect Child? (even if just for a minute)

While we were eating dinner the other night, Catherine informed us that as soon as dinner was done she was ready to take her bath and go night-night. She then told us that she would even read herself a book, sing herself songs, and say her own prayers. Wow! Jay and I thought that sounded like a great plan to us. She then looks down at her plate of food for dinner (chicken and broccoli calzone) and tell us that she loves broccoli! Jay and I looked at each other and just laughed. It's too good to be true. Can she be that perfect? (But don't worry, we've had enough temper tantrums and disobedience to reassure us that, alas, she isn't perfect after all!)

Aquarium

We went to the aquarium in Charleston one morning. It's just the right size for little kids.
Catherine and Will had a great time seeing the fish, turtles, and sea shells, and it only
took about an hour to go through the whole place.

too, so Mimi gave her her very first pedicure.

Time for Summer

We just got back from a trip to the beach. Yeah for the beginning of summer! We had a great time with Mimi and Poppop (Steve and Marcy) at Wild Dunes. Catherine and Will loved having all of the attention from grandparents. We all enjoyed some time in the sun and on the beach. It was so relaxing that I even managed to read 3 books. That hasn't happened in a long time with children around!
