Will turned 4 on Saturday (Oct 1st). I can't believe he's already such a big boy. He is really growing and changing into a little man lately. We had a great time celebrating with him for his birthday.
On Thursday, we took birthday treats to his preschool class. He saw a picture of some cake pops on a magazine and asked me to make those for him. So I gave it a try. They turned out pretty well. Although Will said he didn't like them!!

All the kids were excited about Will being 4. Even sweet Anna was trying her best to hold up 4 fingers.

Will's best friend at preschool, J.C., has the same birthday. So on Saturday they had a joint birthday party at Play Nation and invited their friends from school. They had a great time, although I really think that Will and J.C. wouldn't have noticed if other kids weren't there. They spent the entire time just chasing each other around and saying, "It's our birthdays!"

Will received some great fun birthday presents, including this kite that he practiced flying today. His other favorite gifts from family and friends included a walkie talkie, IronMan figurine (which sounds more like Iowa-man when he says it), personalized football jersey, soccer ball, football, tennis balls, spider man, hot wheels, a thomas train and book set, and a goody bag from Catherine.

Here's one cute Will story: He and Catherine watched Dennis The Menace the other day. I had seen the movie a long time ago and figured they would enjoy watching the mischievous little boy. Apparently I had forgotten that there is a robber in the movie, who Dennis captures. Since seeing the movie, Will is terrified that a robber is going to come to our house when it's bedtime. We've been trying everything we can to reassure him that he's safe. I reminded him last night how much Eli barks when anyone comes to the door--mailman, friends, even us. So I said, "just think how much Eli would bark if a robber came. and that would scare the robber away." Then our sweet Will said, "And yeah, the robber wouldn't have a key, so he would have to ring the doorbell and you know how much Eli barks when anybody rings the doorbell." So as long as any robbers use the doorbell, Will can sleep at night!
Happy 4 years Will! We enjoy our time with you sooooo much and are so thankful God made you part of our family. We love you!
